Course Timings: Registration will commence at 08:00 on the first day of the course. The programme will begin promptly at 08:30 and conclude at 14:30. There will be two refreshment breaks at approximately 10:30 and 12:30. Lunch will be served at the end of the day.

What Does Better Business Writing And Communication Include?

We all tend to think of communication as being only about writing – but in fact everything we do at work communicates in one way or another – even the silence! There are so many aspects of the process that we often fail to take in everything that is going on around us and how much hard work and care it takes to do the job well.

A really effective communicator has a wide range of skills – but many of these skills can be learnt and all these skills can be improved.

The five days of your Better Business Writing course will cover:
• Writing for specific purposes and audiences
• Managing the communication process effectively
• Controlling quality
• Working across different media
• Design and layout: working with commercial design services and printers

There will also be ample opportunity to discuss other aspects of communication, depending on your needs and concerns.

How Does Better Business Writing And Communications Deliver Value For You And Your Business?

As somebody involved in writing on an everyday basis, you rely on your basic writing skills to deliver time after time. But you need the opportunity to step back, recharge and further develop your own communication skills so that you are ready for new challenges at work, promotion or the advent of new media channels. To maximise your efficiency, you also need to add new skills alongside your writing – whether it is more confidence with design and layout, or the opportunity to think ‘out of the box’ to get your message across.

The best way to do this is with the help and support of other writers and communicators, under the guidance of an expert coach. With like-minded individuals, and interesting problems and projects to practice on, you will find the ideas and inspiration really start flying!

Course Style:
The course will be based around active problem solving, through lectures, discussions, workshops and a lot of practice. We learn by ‘doing’, rather than ‘telling’ so the outcome will be a real life set of communication products for each group of participants - from the standard written outputs through creative solutions to communication challenges.
