Course Overview
The world spotlight is on corporate responsibility and accountability. The recent financial crisis has revealed traditional governance and risk management systems to be inadequate. The world community is becoming acutely aware that business has not been shouldering the true costs of its social and environmental impacts. However, progressive business leaders are embracing the principles of corporate responsibility and sustainability and taking steps to embed them throughout their organisations. Experience from across the globe demonstrates that these moves not only enhance reputation amongst key stakeholders but, if done well, have the potential to save costs, attract new customers and invigorate learning and innovation.
Course Objectives
Clarity out of confusion – Corporate responsibility and sustainability means many different things to different organisations. The course will ensure you have the tools to frame your programmes so that they are business relevant and that they resonate with your stakeholders. To aid this, we will explore global and regional best practice and key international standards.
Building the business case – Like any organisational commitment, corporate responsibility and sustainability requires a solid business case. The course will provide a wide perspective into the internal and external business drivers and how best to articulate the business case within your organisation.
Stimulating change – Corporate responsibility and sustainability is essentially a change programme, a shift in mindsets and day to day practices. The course will equip you with a solid understanding as to how best to build a corporate level programme that leads to results and ensures credibility.
