Overview
This workshop will examine the role of HR in making a business work and contributing to the bottom-line. Frequently, HR is sidelined. You will examine why this occurs and why HR sometimes fi nds it diffi cult to exercise its very strong financial position in your organisation.

• Relating performance management to reward
• Making best use of our intellectual capital within the ‘talent pipeline’
• Human capital management and its bottom-line impact
• Examining the links between high quality Employee Relations (ER) and improving the
bottom-line
Case Study
IIR and The Consultancy recently completed detailed research into the impact of Employee Relations (ER) in the Gulf Region. This up-to-date research will be examined in order to investigate the links between high quality ER and greater productivity / profitability / improved service.

About Your Expert Workshop Leader
Charles Wilson has enjoyed a successful international HR career. He has extensive experience in the Gulf region gained over a period of some decades. Charles has watched the area develop and has played a leading role in National development schemes in Oman, the UAE and Kuwait. His major professional interests in the Gulf region lie in the areas of development of Nationals, management education and cross-cultural management. His current research is centered on international HRD, with an emphasis on leadership. Charles lives on the Isle of Man in the British Isles from where he operates his company, “The Consultancy”. His work with IIR in the Gulf Region began over 14 years ago and he has led many courses and presented and chaired conferences throughout the region.
