Dr. Dermot Carey,

Dr. Dermot Carey is a procurement management consultant, trainer and business coach, whose experienced career of 35 years has seen him accomplish major assignments in significant industries, throughout the five continents.

Dr. Carey is the founding member of the North/South Public Procurement Initiative. Recently he co-authored ‘Co-operation to win in Europe’; a paper, approved by the Department of Finance, Dublin, which was the basis of The ntergovernmental Agreement in Public Procurement. He has worked extensively on organisational procurement structures to achieve cost reduction within global multi-nationals, in line with corporate strategies. His engagements include his presence as a visiting professor at universities across Europe, lecturing the graduating class at post graduate programme levels. He also sits on various boards involved in strategic process planning, including the NHS and UK government departments. He developed and implemented an integrated procurement structure for a Dublin hospital, which has been recommended nationwide.
