Course Timings
Registration will be at 07:30 on the first day. The course sessions will start promptly at 08:00 and end at 14:30 each day. There will be two short breaks for refreshments at appropriate times and lunch will be served at the end of each day’s sessions.
Course Introduction
Managing operations effectively requires both strategic and tactical skills and is one of the most critical aspects of an organisation. Effective and efficient utilisation of resources by an organisation determines its success in the long run and operations management is meant to achieve this.
The course will cover all aspects of operations management from basic definitions, through strategies, concepts, approaches and processes to help manage and improve operations.
It will look into translating organisational goals into operational performance objectives of quality, speed, dependability, flexibility and cost. Planning and controlling operational activities such as capacity, inventory and supply chain and quality will be addressed as well as more modern approaches to operations improvement like Lean, Just In Time and Six Sigma.
