David Cavell

A senior banker by background, David Cavell is now a freelance adviser to retail bankers across the World. He has led or supported delivery channel strategy and implementation projects for clients in the UK, Europe, USA, the Middle East, Africa and Asia- Pacific regions. In addition, David has had extensive experience in the development and operation of payment card programmes.

In support of his work, David has conducted extensive research into best practice within retail banking and the payment card sector. This has included the writing of a series of reports covering credit and debit card products, prepaids and cards for business. In addition, he has received many invitations from across the World to speak at conferences or direct workshops.

His industry contributions include acting as an examiner in consumer credit for the Chartered Institute of Bankers, panel membership for the UK Banking Code Standards Board, and a membership of the General Assembly of the University of Manchester. He also supported the development of the Visa International Bank Card Management examination. He is a member of the judging panel for the UK Institute of Financial Services Innovation Awards.
