The International Sports Event Management Awards will honour and recognise outstanding achievement by international sports event management professionals in 11 Award categories..

Awards Categories and Key Criteria
1. BRAND PRESENTATION AWARD
The winner of the Brand Presentation Award will be a brand that has demonstrated outstanding examples of effective and appropriate presentation of their brand within the boundaries of a large scale sports event.
Awarded to a brand that has best demonstrated how the use of sports event branding drove consumer awareness, ensured customer loyalty and established positive brand image in the minds of spectators and attendees. The winning brand will have delivered a clear message to their target audience. Judges will look for visual dynamism, creativity and synergy with the event as well as interaction with spectators and television impact.
Specific marketing objectives and overall ‘feel’ will be considered along with the technical aspects of visibility in a number of mediums, from perimeter boards and signage with particular attention to visibility on the field of play and clarity of view in broadcast.
Entries are welcome from brands and agencies representing a brand at a major sports event.
2. EVENT LOOK AWARD
The Event Look Award will be awarded to the entry that most effectively presented a major sports event both inside and outside the venue. Judges will give considerable attention to the spectator view of the event within the stadium and its surrounding environment. Judges will be looking for examples of how event organisers integrated the ‘look’ and captured the spirit and image of the event in a variety of on-site mediums such as stadium dressing, outdoor media, posters, tickets, mobile advertising, kiosks, web sites, signage etc.
Entries are welcome from suppliers and agencies responsible for providing the look of the event, event owners and organisers of major sports events. Open to designers and production companies. Joint entries permitted.
3. EVENT MARKETING AWARD
The ISEM Event Marketing Award recognises an event organisation that has achieved outstanding results through innovative marketing strategies and execution at a particular major sports event. This could be by the use of any promotional or marketing discipline such as PR, advertising, sales promotion, online campaigns etc.
In selecting the winner of the award, judges will consider the use of creativity and the application of technology to create and execute an effective marketing campaign. In particular, judges will be looking for examples of innovative event marketing used to stimulate and support increased revenue generation and interest in the event such as enhancing ticket and hospitality sales; increased levels of TV audiences, sponsorship fees and merchandising. Entrants should detail acheivementsin increases of revenue streams and targets met or exceeded.
Entries are welcome from event owners, organisers of sports events and agencies responsible for providing the marketing of the event.
4. EVENT OVERLAY / FACILITIES AWARD
The Event Overlay / Facilities Award will be awarded to an event organisation that has provided outstanding event overlay / temporary facilities at a particular major sports event. Overlay being the planning, design, installation and management (or any element of the proceeding) of temporary facilities to enhance the operations of a major sports event.
The Event Overlay / Facilities Award will be judged on the broad merits of a project based on the creativity, architectural and managerial skills demonstrated in order to overcome the challenges of scale, timing (deadlines), logistics and accessibility, availability of local resources and budget.
Entries are welcome from event owners, organisers of sports events and suppliers responsible for providing the overlay / temporary facilities at a major sport event.
5. EVENT SERVICES AWARD
Every major sports event draws upon a range of specialist services from catering and personnel training to accreditation and media management (see list below for full range of services). In this broad category, judges will seek evidence of the way that service providers have overcome specific challenges or delivered high standards of service, which have had a demonstrable impact on the success of an event.

6. EVENT HOSPITALITY AND TRAVEL AWARD
The Sports Event Hospitality and Travel Award will go to the entry that best demonstrates how innovation and enterprise has fashioned hospitality and/or travel offering. The success of this offering would have made a major contribution to an event's revenues and spectator experience.
The judges will take account of the creativity behind the offering - including creation of themed facilities and menus, the event experience, standards of services as well as sales and marketing. The particular challenges presented by an event will also be taken into consideration
Entries are welcome from sports event owners, organisers and agencies responsible for providing the event hospitality and travel services at a major sport event.
7. ENVIROMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY AWARD
The Environmental Sustainability Award recognises a major sports event or organisations that demonstrate leadership, good environmental practice and a commitment to the enhancement, preservation and protection of the environment. This award will recognise a sports event that has shown a significant awareness of the environment and reduced the carbon footprint. Award entries must provide accurate descriptions of the sports event for the judges to study supported by visual and factual evidence of the reduction of the carbon footprint or environmental damage in as many areas as possible.
Entries are welcome from sports event owners, organisers and solution providers responsible for delivering environmental solutions at a major sport event.
8. SPORTS CITY AWARD
National or City Sports Councils and Tourism Boards are invited to nominate a City that organises, hosts and promotes major sports events as a strategic tool for city branding, economic development or something to do with human development. This prestigious award will recognise a world-class city that has demonstrated excellence in the organisation, development and hosting of major sports events. Judges will consider a number of factors including:
• the level of funding, event strategy, legislation, support and commitment
• number, type and importance of events
• Infrastructure, transportation, accommodation and venue facilities
• Legacy planning and impact
• Local and international interest and attendance
• Innovative marketing and promotion

9. OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTION TO INTERNATIONAL SPORTS EVENT MANAGEMENT AWARD
The Outstanding Individual Contribution to Sports Event Management Award is the highest honour given to an individual in the international sports event management industry. This Award is given to an individual considered to have made the most significant contribution to the development of the international sports event management sector. This prestigious Award will acknowledge and recognise an international sports event management professional who has demonstrated impressive leadership and selfless dedication to organising major sports events and promoting standards that set the bar for others to follow.
