The 7th International Sports Event Management Conference will take place on 7-8 November 2012 in London.

After a hugely successful event in 2011, ISEM 2012 promises to attract another powerful line-up of speakers along with engaging, practical content. With UEFA Euro 2012 and the highly anticipated London Olympics taking place this summer, 2012 will no doubt prove to be a massive year in the sports event calendar.

    • London 2012’s CEO, Paul Deighton, making his fourth presentation to an ISEM audience highlighted the importance of building the right team to get the job done.
    • Dmitry Chernyshenko, President of the Sochi 2014 Organising Committee, explained how the Winter Olympic Games has not only become the biggest construction project in the world but is transforming Russia through its focus on opportunity, accessibility and the environment.
    • Lord Sebastian Coe told delegates how people power had helped Daegu win the right to host the 2011 IAAF World Championships when 800,000 citizens signed a petition for an event which has given their city a fresh identity and belief.
    • Richard Worth of the America’s Cup Authority spoke of the challenges involved in making the world’s oldest international trophy a draw for live and TV viewers alike.

    ISEM delivered excellent networking opportunities around a buzzing exhibition hall while many participants took the opportunity to organise side-meetings with speakers, many of whom are responsible for multi-billion dollar budgets of some of the biggest sports events in the world.
