The HR Excellence Awards, an integral part of The Middle East HR Summit, are designed to showcase HR talent in the Middle East and recognize the achievements of HR professionals in creating a high performing workforce for the future. 

The Awards will honour outstanding achievements in the management and development of human capital in the following categories: 
 

Outstanding Contribution to HR

HR Professional of the Year

Young HR Professional of the Year

HR Initiative of the Year

Employer of the Year

How To Enter The Middle East HR Summit Excellence Awards

Who Can Enter?
Any company, organisation or individual operating in the Middle East, private or public, regardless of size or industry sector, is eligible to enter the Awards.

How To Enter
Individuals and companies who wish to submit nominations for the Awards should
complete the nomination form available online at the HR Summit website. Please click here for the nomination form.

Your entry should include:

1. The official nomination form
2. A brief personal profile outlining relevant work history – maximum 200 words
3. A brief company profile – maximum 200 words
4. A document that addresses the criteria for the relevant award category and explains
    why the nominee deserves to win the Award (maximum 500 words)
5. Any supporting material (in addition to the above, which enhances your nomination
    (testimonials, campaign materials, results of HR initiatives)

Please note entries should be supported with as much statistical evidence as possible.

Judging Procedure
Each nomination will be assessed by an independent panel of judges selected by IIR Middle East. Deadline for the receipt of entries is 1 October 2008. Entries will only be accepted on the official entry form.
Companies or individuals may enter more than one category provided that each entry has been specifically written to address the relevant criteria and is accompanied by a separate entry form. Self nomination is permitted.
A shortlist of nominations will be compiled mid-October and the winners will be announced at The Middle East HR Summit Excellence Awards 2008 Gala Dinner, to be held on Monday, 27 October 2008.
All delegates who register for The Middle East HR Summit are eligible to attend the Gala Dinner at no additional cost. Guests who wish to attend the Gala Dinner will be required to pay a fee of US $200/ AED 734.

Gala Dinner
The Middle East HR Summit Excellence Awards Gala Dinner will be held Monday, 27 October 2008 from 19.30. The evening will feature entertainment, a lavish dinner and the Excellence Awards Ceremony. The Master of Ceremonies will be Professor Alan Patching. All delegates who register for The Middle East HR Summit are eligible to attend the Gala Dinner at no additional cost. Guests who wish to attend the Gala Dinner will be required to pay a fee of US $200.

Judging Criteria

Outstanding Contribution to HR

Nominees for this award should provide details of how they have influenced, initiated or inspired change or ways of thinking throughout their HR career. This may include achievements across companies and industry sectors.
Entries will be judged on the following criteria:

• Achievements – what long term results were achieved as a result of your HR initiatives
  or strategies?
• Influence – how did your initiatives contribute to business performance or way of doing
  business?
• Alignment – how did your initiatives align with business strategy to deliver results?
• Professionalism – how did your HR strategies or initiatives enhance the image and
  effectiveness of the HR function?

HR Professional of the Year
Entries for this award should provide details of the HR initiatives they have introduced to their organisation and the outcomes of these initiatives. 
Entries will be judged on the following criteria:

• Innovation – what was different, new or unique about these initiatives?
• Influence – how did your initiatives contribute to the performance of your organisation?
• Alignment – how did your initiatives align with business strategy and organisational
  values to deliver results?
• Resources – what resources were available and how were they utilised?
• Professionalism – how did these initiatives enhance the image and effectiveness of the
  HR function within your organisation?

Young HR Professional of the Year
Nominees for this award should less than 35 years of age and be able to provide evidence of emerging talent in the field of human resources and high potential for future achievements in the profession.
Entries will be judged on the following criteria:

• Innovation – what ideas or initiatives have you created for your organisation?
• Influence – how did your initiatives contribute to the performance of your organisations?
• Alignment – how did your initiatives fit with business strategy or organisational values?
• Professionalism – how did your initiatives enhance the image and effectiveness of the
  HR function within your organisation?
• Personal growth - how are you actively pursuing continuing professional development?

HR Initiative of the Year

Entries for this award should provide evidence of the successful implementation of a single, well planned and executed HR campaign within the last 12 months. Submissions should include the direct and measurable results of the initiative and detail how it has directly benefited the organization involved.
Entries will be judged on the following criteria:

• Innovation – what was different, new or unique about this initiative?
• Influence – how did your initiative contribute to the performance of your organisation?
• Alignment – how did your initiative align with business strategy and organisational
  values to deliver results?
• Resources – what resources were available and how were they utilised?
• Professionalism – how did this initiative enhance the image and effectiveness of the HR
  function within your organisation?

Employer of the Year
Entries for this award should provide evidence of superior people management strategies resulting in a productive, engaged and motivated workforce. This evidence may be in the form of employee surveys, retention initiatives, career development programmes or other measurable results.
Entries will be judged on the following criteria:

• Achievements – how productive, engaged and motivated are your employees? What
  were your measurable employee relations outcomes?
• Innovation – what was different, new or unique about your HR initiatives?
• Influence – how did your initiatives contribute to the performance of your organisation?
• Alignment – how did your initiatives align with business strategy and organisational
  values to deliver results?
• Resources – what resources were available and how were they utilised?
• Professionalism – how did these initiatives enhance the image and ‘employer brand’ of
  your organisation? How did your work contribute to your organisation ‘employer of
  choice’?
