    Benedict (Ben) Stanberry

    Benedict (Ben) Stanberry is Principal Consultant at Oliva Health in the UK. Ben has held healthcarerelated positions in legal practice, academia, management consulting and politics as well as being a senior executive in a number of healthcare organisations.

    Originally trained as a lawyer, Ben was Welsh Lawyer of the Year and a faculty member at the University of Wales in Cardiff. Following a move to management consulting in 2001, he led the provision of advisory services to numerous public and private sector organisations, including the Welsh Assembly Government, Scottish Executive, Department of Health, Ministry of Defence, LogicaCMG, Capgemini and Sanofi Aventis. Internationally, he has worked extensively with the European Commission, European Parliament, European Space Agency and World Health Organisation, has been an adviser to several government health ministries and interim chief executive of a Brussels-based NGO.

    Ben was elected to local government in London in May 2006, where his role included the overview and scrutiny of the capital’s healthcare services.

    In the Middle East region, Ben has worked with healthcare organisations to deliver strategy and operations consulting and organisational development services to all levels of healthcare managers and clinicians covering strategy and operations management, IT strategy and implementation, performance management, leadership, change and ‘soft’ management skills such as coaching, problem-solving and communication.

    Ben has an Executive MBA from the from UK’s top business school: Henley Management College. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and Chartered Management Institute and a Member of the Institute of Directors and Institute of Healthcare Management. He is a frequent speaker at both national and international healthcare events and has written numerous books, book chapters and journal articles on healthcare strategy, management and modernisation.
