In this course you will learn how to:
Take the right approach to strategic management by understanding the 10 different approaches to strategy and strategic
change and subsequently selecting and applying the best approach for YOUR healthcare organisation
Understand the importance of strategy and its role in the hierarchy of mission statement, vision, strategy, objectives and
   tactics
Understand the context for strategic management in your organisation by identifying the key internal and external factors
that, taken together with your organisation’s mission statement and vision, create the environment in which you must

Identify the core capabilities that your organisation must possess in order to deliver on its strategic objectives. These core
capabilities can be about your organisation’s people, systems, processes, finances and facilities. Put simply: what must

Plan performance by translating the core capabilities your organisation requires into measurable goals – standards,
expectations and actions for the organisation, its departments, teams and individuals
Manage, review and improve performance by formally reviewing how well these goals are being achieved and assuring that
achievement through appropriate training and development, feedback and appraisal
Reward performance using reward structures that are appropriate in the context of your organisation’s broader business
strategy and recognise that motivation is a complex combination of factors that includes benefits, organisational climate and
development and career opportunities, as well as financial rewards
