About The Event

We are currently finalizing the 2009 conference programme. Below you will find the 2008 programme for your persual.

Much has changed in the regional healthcare agenda in the last year. Since we last gathered together at Arab Health in January 2007,
the hospital planning, design, construction and operations communities have confronted many challenges. In an increasingly cluttered space, differentiation remains a challenge; the realities of construction are constantly being felt and many new projects are grappling with the challenges of taking new facilities from launch to operation.

As many things change, many things also remain the same. The sharing of global best practice remains a key aim of HDU and we have once again developed a powerful speaker faculty of international and regional experts in order to address this need. In response to your feedback from HDU 2007 we have also included an increased number of case study presentations to ensure that the insights you gain are more easily applied to your own challenges.

HDU 2008 is again supported by three powerful workshop days. These workshops present learning opportunities of unrivalled depth and, between them, cover a range of topics from accreditation through to how to make your new hospital a success through strategic branding and marketing. In the past these workshops have proved to offer benefits to professionals whose roles might not, at first glance, be relevant to the topic in question. I encourage you to attend as many of them as possible in order to maximise your learning outcomes.

HDU 2008 is again co-located with Arab Health – the world’s largest multi-stream medical congress and the leading exhibition for healthcare professionals. The networking, knowledge sharing and educational opportunities presented by HDU and Arab Health are simply not available anywhere else in the world. HDU is also accredited by AACME for 25 hours of category one credits.

This event is now well established as the premiere gathering of healthcare facility planners, designers, contractors and managers. Last year saw over 150 of the region’s leading lights come together and play their part in the on-going development of the Middle East healthcare industry. If you were fortunate enough to join us last year, then I look forward to welcoming you back in 2008. If this will be your first time at HDU then I urge you to bring your challenges and insights with you and be prepared to take part in a lively and stimulating event.
