The insurance sector in the Middle East has made significant progress over the last three years. Policy makers and regulatory authorities have made progress in promoting the growth, competitiveness and development of the insurance industry in the Middle East, and as the industry looks to build on this success, several key challenges still need to be addressed to bring the region in line with developed insurance markets around the globe.
Now that the foundation is set, and aided by regulatory authorities’ efforts, the MENA region saw an increase of 26% compounded annual growth between 2005 and 2008. However, there is still room for improvement.
