William (Bill) John O’Toole,

William O’Toole has been creating and organising events for over 20 years. He is a sought-after presenter and teacher in event management in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Middle East, UK, USA and Malaysia and is an event management consultant to public and private organisations for events throughout Australia, including Airshows Downunder and the Australian Taxation Office.
Bill has co-authored two international texts on event management, Festival and Special Event Management (1999, 2002, 2004) and Corporate Event Project Management (2002). These textbooks are used for courses around the world and have been translated into Chinese, Korean and Portuguese. His adaptation of project management to event and festival management as published on his CDROM, EPMS.NET is used for events in USA, Europe and China.
Bill is a senior advisor to the International Event Management Body Of Knowledge (EMBOK) project and the creation of an International Standard for Event Management. The project includes representatives of countries from around the world and is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Bill trains event managers and project managers at the University of Sydney on-line for their Masters course and the University of Technology, Sydney and for Standards Australia. Far from being only versed in theory, Bill has organised concerts, festivals and other events around Australia and throughout Asia, as far a field as central Borneo and India, to smaller venues closer to home.
