About the event:

Between every employer and every employee there is a contract – a written document which commits each party to abide by the relevant country’s labour law and company policies and procedures. And whilst this written contract is important, it is not the only ‘contract’ that exists between employers and employees.

There is also the ‘psychological contract’, and it is this contract that drives the sense of affiliation and belongingness within employees.

So, if we are dealing with ‘emotional connectivity’, a piece of paper isn’t going to help. And if this contract isn’t upheld, it is likely that the employee will not have a sense of engagement with the organisation. If not handled appropriately, this can lead to a complete breakdown in the relationship. But if this contract isn’t written, how can you know what it covers?
