Course Overview


Course Timings
Registration will be at 07:30 on Day One of the course. The course will commence at 08:00 and conclude at 14:30 with lunch. There will be refreshment breaks at approximately 10:30 and 12:30.

The course will
  • Provide you with an opportunity to understand the principles of emergency response procedures as relevant to your industry
  • Review the roles and responsibilities held by team and individual members of your emergency response organisation
  • Consider contact, organisational interface responsibilities and communication requirements within your emergency response organisation
  • It will also provide you with an understanding of
    - Writing emergency checklists and contingency plans
    - Customising the incident command system
    - Hazard identification
    - Basic risk assessment
    - Design of bow tie diagrams to show threats, barriers, top events, mitigation and consequences

This interactive course will be taught through a combination of theory and practical sessions, supplemented by workshop sessions, exercises and videos.
