Benedict Stanberry

Ben Stanberry has held healthcare-related positions in legal practice, academia, management consulting and politics as well as having been a senior executive in a number of healthcare organisations. He is presently a Principle Consultant with Oliva Health, a Dubai-based consulting firm that provides healthcare management and IT consulting to clients across the MENA region.
Originally trained as a lawyer, Ben has both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in law, was Welsh Lawyer of the Year and was a faculty member at the University of Wales in Cardiff. Following a move to management consulting in 2001, he led the provision of advisory services to numerous public and private sector organisations deploying IT solutions for healthcare, including the Welsh Assembly Government, Scottish Executive, Department of Health, Ministry of Defence, LogicaCMG, Capgemini and Sanofi Aventis.
Internationally, he has worked extensively with the European Commission, European Parliament, European Space Agency and World Health Organization, has been an adviser to several government health ministries and interim chief executive of a Brussels-based NGO.
Ben was elected to local government in London in May 2006, where his role included the overview and scrutiny of the capital’s healthcare services.
In the Middle East region, Ben works with numerous healthcare organisations to deliver business consulting services and management development training for senior healthcare managers and executives. His expertise covers strategy and performance management, strategic marketing, operations management, talent management, IT strategy and implementation, leadership and change.
Ben has an Executive MBA from Henley Management College, which is consistently ranked among the world’s top business schools. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and Chartered Management Institute and a Member of the Institute of Directors and the Institute of Healthcare Management. He is a frequent speaker at both national and international healthcare events and has written numerous books, book chapters and journal articles on healthcare IT, strategy, management and modernisation
