Robert Swan OBE
The first person in history to walk to both the North and South poles. Swan has dedicated his life to the preservation of Antarctica by the promotion of recycling, renewable energy and sustainability to combat the effects of climate change. Robert Swan, just returned from this expedition to Antarctica together with H.H. Sheikh Abdulaziz of Ajman (AKA ‘The Green Sheikh’) and the press attention since their return if phenomenal.

He will tell his story of his expedition as a motivational/leadership story, it is an amazing and very riveting story that is extremely inspiring and really energizes people and even leaves a few people teary eyed.

Nalini Suresh

Nalini has international experience across varied industries ranging from heavy engineering, oil and gas and FMCG to the big four Audit firms. Her stints with KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers helped her gain exposure to the offshore banking units of Citibank, Yamaichi and Oman International Bank. She went on to lead manage an investment advisory founded by Oman Holdings International. Her management consulting assignments involved diverse businesses including Inchcape Middle East Bahrain, Schlumberger and Fujifilm Oman.

Nalini has been invited to speak at international conferences and delivers guest lectures at business schools and student networks. She has been providing advisory services to corporates in the GCC region for the past three years.

Habiba Al Marshi

Habiba Al Marashi is the co-founder and Chairperson of Emirates Environmental Group, a pioneering organization based in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. She played a key role in the growth of the EEG, which is the only active, multi-sectoral organization in the UAE that has successfully brought the government, private sector and community under the same banner. Through her leadership, she initiated the first corporate social responsibility (CSR) network in the country in 2004 with local and multinational companies. Apart from this she is one of the Founding Members of the Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC).She is also a board member of the UN Global Compact since 2006 and President of the UN Global Compact Local Network for the GCC States.

Under Mrs. Al Marashi’s guidance, EEG became the first environmental NGO in the world to receive an ISO 14001 certification. EEG is also the only organization of its kind in the GCC, with accreditation with two highly esteemed UN bodies, namely the United Nations Convention to Combating Desertification (UNCCD) and the United Nations Environmental Program’s (UNEP) Governing Council. EEG is a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) since 2008. These accreditations ensure the Group’s involvement and participation in international environmental discussions, programs and campaigns.

Mrs. Al Marashi is involved in many leading initiatives on environment, women and development at the national, regional and international levels. She is a member of the Global Women’s Consultative Council, and a recognized representative and spokesperson for West Asian Arab nations at high ranking international summits. She is a recipient of several awards for her contribution and achievements in the social and fields one of which is the Emirates Business Women Award for year 2002 –2003 in the Professional Category.
