Paul Walsh

Paul Walsh has been based in Muscat, Oman since 2003. He knows the culture, organisations and ways of working within the region. He currently mixes his consultancy work with lectures at further and higher education colleges and universities in the UK, together with training courses in the Gulf and MENA region.
Well-known in the Gulf region he has built a reputation based on substantive human resource and operations experience in Europe and through working with many companies in the region. He has operated as an HR consultant in the oil and gas, banking, telecommunications, construction, finance, leisure and retail sectors.
Paul brings his practical experience to bear on many HR issues as well as specialising in finance and leadership courses.
Paul has a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from Lancaster University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and Training from the University of Huddersfield as well as a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages from Trinity College, London.
Prior to founding his own HR training consultancy in 1999, Paul worked with the Royal Mail in various roles, concluding his time there as the senior operations manager. In 1993, Paul led a team in the restoration of postal services in Kuwait as part of the national infrastructure regeneration process following the Gulf War. He has undertaken consultancy work in Qatar, Pakistan, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt. He also spends time teaching adults with learning difficulties, basic business and retail skills.
