Introduction
The maintenance strategy for your aboveground atmospheric storage tanks is crucial to optimising the tank’s life and reducing its operational costs.

However, to have an effective maintenance strategy, you will firstly need to understand how the tanks were designed, how to ensure worker safety and how to clean and prepare your tanks for inspection. You will also need to have a detailed understanding of current technologies available for safe tank entry, how to recover valuable hydrocarbon from hazardous waste, minimise offsite disposal and maintain tank integrity while complying with environmental rules.

The issues are complex but the rewards are great. This highly practical and interactive four-day training course will give you the knowledge set to enable you to carry out your role much more effectively.

The course will go through the key challenges you face and provide best practice knowledge to overcome them. In particular, you will gain an understanding of:
• the latest developments in tank design and construction
• cost-effective maintenance strategies
• techniques which can extend the in-service period between inspections of your tanks
• better health and safety of personnel engaged in your tank refurbishment and cleaning projects
• optimal desludging and cleaning techniques

The course is packed with essential information including the most recent best-practice maintenance trends, a comparison of commercially available desludging technologies as well as the latest worker safety rules.
