Event Overview

The M.A. in International Human Resource Management (IHRM) is an executive part-time programme designed by Northampton Business School (NBS), The University Of Northampton, for working professionals with HR responsibilities and commitments who wish to develop their careers.

This Masters level programme will appeal to those looking to develop expertise in HRM in an international context. It will facilitate understanding of the specific issues that pose challenges when managing people in an international and multicultural environment. In addition, the programme will equip the participant with the analytical and diagnostic skills enabling the participant to make enhanced contributions to the strategic management of people in organisations. The aim of the programme is to develop highly qualified international HRM specialists, capable of achieving success as business partners, academic researchers or in teaching following completion of the programme.

The teaching and learning strategy of the programme has been designed to provide you with a sound knowledge and understanding of the theory and practice of international HRM at an advanced level.

Teaching Methodology

Introducing The Blended Learning Model

The programme will be delivered by a blend of different methods including classroom workshops, CD-roms, e-learning and printed material giving participants a sound knowledge and understanding of the theory and practice of international HRM at an advanced level. Contemporary developments in relevant research are introduced in class and related reading, while extensive use is made of case study material.

The M.A. in IHRM consists of six modules and a dissertation. Each module will be supported by a three-day workshop conducted by University Of Northampton tutors.

The degree is designed to be undertaken over an 18 month period. All of the workshops and the dissertation stage are facilitated by experienced visiting University Of Northampton tutors.
